After weeks and months of prayerful searching, our pulpit committee has presented us with a candidate for senior minister. The congregation unanimously approved his call to serve the First Christian Church in Harrison, Arkansas.

Dr. David Artman was born in Duluth, Minnesota and grew up in Irving, Texas. He became a Christian in 1981 at the age of 20 and joined First Christian Church in Lubbock, Texas. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelors Degree in business. He has also completed a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University, as well as a Doctor of Ministry from Brite with an emphasis in preaching. In addition, he has participated in numerous continuing education opportunities. He was ordained in 1987 and has been engaged in ministry since. He has been pastor of Catching Life Christian Church of Chicago since 1997. He has special gifts in the areas of spiritual growth and preaching, and has been actively involved in ministry with the hurting, new believers, and Christians seeking full maturity in Christ. Dr. Artman has an impressive knowledge of God's word, and has the ability to relate to all age groups.

Dr. Artman is married. His spouse, Amy Collier Artman, is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a Ph. D. candidate in the History of Christianity at the University of Chicago. They have two cats and are anticipating the addition of a puppy in 2007. Among David's special interests and hobbies are camping, playing the 5-string banjo, hiking and golf.
